Policy Guidelines of Asset Management Strategy

Management of Asset is the most important topic for any Private type Financial Institutions as well as Publicly held private organizations to manage their Statement of affairs, especially for controlling of its liquidity risk and interest rate risk. Proper addressing this risk associated with any type of financial both private and public business may cause to failure the proper direction threaten the very existence of the institutions. Financial institutions not having always imposed a entirely composiote view of their assets . Indeed, for much of banking history, bankers tended to take their sources of funds- liabilities and equity- largely for granted. This asset management view held that the amount and kinds of deposits a bank held and the volume of other borrowed funds it was able to attract. Under this view, the public determined the relative amounts of checkable deposits, savings accounts, and other sources of funds available to banks. The key decision area for bank management was not deposits and other borrowings but assets. The bankers could exercise control only over the allocation of incoming funds by deciding who was to receive the scarce quantity of loans available and what the terms to those loans would be. Indeed, there was some logic behind this asset management approach because prior to deregulation of the industry, the types of deposits, the rates offered on deposits, and the non-deposit sources of funds banks could draw upon were closely regulated. Bank managers had only limited discretion in reshaping their sources of funds.
